This audio system handles MP3 ﬁ les

that have been recorded on CD-R/CD-

RW/CD-ROMs.

When naming an MP3 ﬁ le, be sure to

add an MP3 ﬁ le extension (.mp3) after

the ﬁ le name.

The number of characters which can be

displayed is restricted.

CAUTION

This unit can only play MP3  les that

have an MP3  le extension (.mp3)

attached. Do not attach an MP3  le

extension to any other type  le as it

could cause noise to be emitted or a

malfunction in the unit.

MP3

Abbreviation for “MPEG Audio Layer

3”. A technical standard for audio

compression as decided by the ISO

allows for audio data to be compressed to

approximately a tenth of the source data

WMA is short for Windows Media Audio

and is the audio compression format used

by Microsoft.

Audio data can be created and stored at a

higher compression ratio than MP3.

CAUTION

This unit plays  les with the (.wma)  le

extension as a WMA  le. Do not use the

WMA  le extension for  les other than

WMA  les. Otherwise, it could result in

noise or a malfunction.

WMA ﬁ les written under speciﬁ cations

other than the indicated speciﬁ cation

may not play normally or ﬁ les or folder

names may not display correctly.

The ﬁ le extension may not be provided

depending on the computer operating

system, version, software, or settings. In

this case, add the ﬁ le extension “.wma”

to the end of the ﬁ le name, and then

write it to the disc.
